Wondering off the Beaten Path

This one is worth some explanation. We decided to head over to the West side of the island on Wednesday to take advantage of the Waimea Canyon reserve which is described as the "Grand Canyon" of the pacific. At the last minute we changed our choice of trails and headed West towards the Napali Coast. About two miles into the hike we were both pretty bummed we made this choice because the trail pretty much reminded us of a normal "Midwest" experience. Boy were we eating those words a mile later. We came out of the lush vegetation and were treated to something you could only image in your mind. At the end of four miles we stepped onto LoLo Vista point and looked down 3,000 feet to the shores of the Napoli Coast. Most of this we happened to see from the boat ride last Friday but lets just say looking down with your toes hanging off the cliffs of the canyon is a bit more exhilarating. I guess you could say that words wouldn't do it justice and that was confirmed as we both stood there and didn't say anything for at least a couple minutes.
